Animal Shelter

Recycle to help the shelter and help the environment! Here are a couple of ways you can help the Ohio County Animal Shelter.

  • Paws to Recycle - Recycle your aluminum drink cans.
  • Cash for Critters - Used ink jet or laser computer cartridges and old cell phones.

We turn these into cash to buy fuel for our transporters, provide vet services, and purchase vaccines and other medications not covered in the shelter budget. Bring your recyclable items to the shelter during regular business hours or call for pick-up.

Donations

With a limited budget, we rely on the generosity of people to help us provide the animals with extras that make their stay at the shelter less stressful and traumatic. Donations of canned dog or cat food, rawhide bones, dog biscuits, clay cat litter, and dog or cat toys can help lift the spirits of our shelter animals.

Cleaning supplies such as mops, brooms, disinfectant cleaner, hand sanitizer, and paper towels help keep the shelter clean and sanitary for the animals.

A wish list of items is available on our petfinder.com site and our Very Best Pet Network board in the pet food section of the Beaver Dam Wal Mart.

Volunteers

We are always in need of caring people to give their time and affection to homeless animals. Come by the shelter to pick up an application. Must be able to volunteer a minimum of 2 hours per month.
